Hop over to the EYMM shop and use code FALLHOODIES2015 to save 50% on either hoodie pattern! Coupon is good for Zander’s Hoodie & Hooded Vest (newborn-18tween) or His & Hers Hoodie & Hooded Vest (adult XS-5XL) and expires 11:59pm PST on Sept. 29.

*NOTE* These two patterns are INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED sewing level, as they include zipper installation and some unique assembly techniques.

I have found that blog tours are a great way to push my sewing comfort! I love just about every pattern Kymy puts out, but when the Zander hoodie made its debut, I was not a fan. Then I started seeing the asymmetrical zippers popping up everywhere!  I still wasn’t sold on the idea. Then I did the anniversary blog tour and remembered why I love EYMM patterns!

When I saw the call for the hoodie tour, I figured I would make some for the kids. Joelle assigned me the His & Hers Hoodie, so I decided to embrace the challenge and make myself something once again! One problem I hit…..I couldn’t find a separating zipper that was long enough!  I checked all my local stores, then went online…which of course meant waiting for shipping. It finally arrived and I got this hoodie finished!

I love The way Kymy explains the process! It makes even the hardest steps easy! She has very well written, detailed instructions on how to put the zipper in and a unique way to attach the lining to the bottom band! I am excited to make a couple more of these for myself! I chose to make mine with a sweatshirt fleece, which turned out okay, except I have zero stretch in the sleeve cuffs and bottom band. I also let my 12 yr old pick the lining, which ended up being too slinky of a knit, so it was sliding all over no matter how many clips or pins I added! Lessones learned and knowledge for next time!

I love the reds and the grey together though! And I can tell, I will definitely stay warm in this sweater!

So pretty on the inside! A great way to use those prints that you love but are not sure they are “grown up” enough to wear!

Nice and cozy for the cool Fall weather (that I hope is coming! it was 90* out while I was taking these pictures!)

I hope I have inspired you to sew up a hoodie or two!

I will also have a couple custom slots open in November for these!

Happy Sewing!

Larissa
